ENDODONTIC TREATMENT (ROOT CANAL)

  • ENDODONTIC TREATMENT

Endodontic treatment (Root Canal) involves the removal of the damaged or dead pulp (nerve) of the root canal of the tooth, through its cleaning by chemical and mechanical means. The root canal is then sealed with a material that aims to limit the growth of germs. Once the treatment is complete, a temporary filling is placed until the tooth is restored with a permanent filling or a crown.

  • ENDODONTIC TREATMENT REPETITION

In denervated teeth that have been treated incompletely, a resurgence of inflammation can be observed, manifesting symptoms such as pain and swelling. Also, teeth with existing endodontic treatments are still at risk of caries. In these cases and under certain conditions, the repetition of the endodontic treatment is indicated. This process is particularly difficult with success rates reaching 77-89% after 5 years.
